What this covers
This policy applies to the Disaster Clippy website (disasterclippy.com) and the hosted app (app.disasterclippy.com). It does not apply to local or self-hosted deployments, which run on your own hardware and are not subject to this policy.
What we collect
Account information
If you create an account, we collect your email address. We use it to authenticate you and to contact you about your account if necessary. We do not sell it or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
Queries and search sessions
When you use the hosted search app, your queries are processed in memory to generate an answer. Conversation history is kept in memory for the duration of your session to support follow-up questions. Sessions are not persisted after they end and are not stored in a database.
To generate answers, your query is sent to a third-party AI provider (currently Anthropic). You can review Anthropic's privacy policy for how they handle API inputs. Local deployments route queries to your chosen local model instead and do not send data to any external provider.
Packs and saved content
If you are signed in, packs you create or save are stored and associated with your account. You can delete them at any time from your account settings.
Payments
If a paid tier is available, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details. You can review Stripe's privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
What we do not collect
We do not use third-party analytics or tracking scripts. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not sell or share your data with data brokers.
How we use your data
Your email address is used to manage your account. Your queries are used only to generate the answer you requested. We do not use your queries to train AI models or to build profiles of your behavior.
Data retention
Account data is retained until you delete your account. Session data is not retained beyond the active session. If you delete your account, your email and saved packs are removed.
Your rights
You can delete your account at any time. If you would like a copy of data we hold about you, or want to request deletion, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy
